BIOS USB or Mobo CD first?

Do I want to install the stuff on the mobo CD or download the BIOS update and put it on a flash drive and install it first? This is after I've installed Win 7 for a P67 ASRock PRO3 mobo. I haven't updated windows yet either. I think the ethernet drivers are on the disc.

[e] It looks like the bios may not be necessary. I am just paranoid because last time I popped in the mobo CD, the autorun sent it to a BSOD. Fast forward 6 weeks and a slew of problems later, I have reinstalled win 7 on a replacement board and am really worried it will break down again.

If I'm going to update the BIOS on a new build, I usually do it first, before installing Windows.

Other than that, unless I need it for a CPU upgrade or a bug fix, I don't bother updating BIOSes on a computer that is working fine.

How do I determine if the Drivers on the CD are good enough or if I need to get new ones from the website? Just wait and see if anything goes wrong?

http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=P67%20Pro3&o=Win764 shows all the things I can download but I don't know the dates on them. Should I just install those or the ones off my CD and compare? Should I do windows update first?

[e] What is the "ME Driver". It's one of the items on the CD and I can't find any explanation online or on the disc. Really annoying.

ME driver is intel management engine driver.

The others drivers I just download latest from web.

I do my drivers before win update.

ME driver is intel management engine driver.

If you google "what is intel management driver" the results are pretty awful. Results say crap like "installs the intel management engine". Okayyyy, so should I be installing this?

[e] Looks like it's more for businesses so I will probably skip it.

I would always just download the latest from the manufacturer website and install those, if you get fits from something then you can rollback to older ones, but most of the time there are fixes in those compared to whenever the disc was printed (same with video card drivers, etc).

If you skip it when viewing device manager it'll most likely be the one left with the ! next to it.

The intel management engine is a tool that allows network administrators to do some manner of remote setup/control for computers in a business environment. Not needed for a home user.
