BIOS upgrade stops freezes

About a month ago I built a system with the A8N-E board, AMD64 +3200, 1 G Crucial RAM. Everything worked well except that the system would lock up at random, sometimes 2-3 times a day...no reponse from keyboard or mouse. Temps and voltages appeared to be OK and there were no related error entries in logs. I ran Spinrite, Memtest and a few other diagnostics with no improvement. Finally I did what I should have done at the start...upgrade the BIOS. Since moving from v. 1004 to 1006, there have been no more freezes or other hang-ups. Maybe this will help someone else in a similar situation.
