BIOS updates when multiple releases

If I buy a new motherboard that is a model that has been on the market some quite some time and for which the web site lists 5 releases of BIOS updates, should I get each update in the order of the release dates, or only the latest one? In other words, does the latest update include the changes in the previous updates? If this is so, I would think the file size would get larger with each successive release, but I've noticed that's not always the case.

BIOS update files are complete replacements of what's in there right now. So you always just get the latest one and put that in.

What he said. Usually you should only update your bios if you run into any problems, though, unless the bios is said to have performance increases. If something goes wrong while you're flashing it, you could end up with a useless motherboard.
