I have an Asus P5N-D board which I need to update the bios on, I think. I Had a Q6600 and upgraded to a Q9450 which
the board is supposed to support. Problem is during post I get a message saying a bios update is needed to reach
the full potential of the processor. I can hit F1 to continue or delete to enter the bios. The bios sees and recognizes
the processor and all the voltages ect... are correct. Windows and all my software recognize it correctly and I'm
not having any problems. I need to do an update to get rid of the post message and eliminate the "Press F1 .....
message. There are only 2 bios's newer than the one my board has and neither are for cpu updates. Any idea
what might be causing the message and will an update fix my problem.

You need BIOS 0107 or later.

See this. Start searching under "Motherboards" on the right.

Thanks for the link. Do you know how to go about using the EZ Flash 2 with a usb key. That would be my next step. I only had to upgrade a bios twice. Once with MSI online bios update an once with a floppy. I've read that the EZ Flash is good but I'm not sure how to do it with a usb thumb drive.
