I have Asus A7V266-C mobo with VIA KT266A chipset. I have updated my BIOS from Asus Update. But the release date of that BIOS is 2003. I have checked Asus' website, but no newer updates are there..!! Can I update my BIOS from Award's site?? (I guess Award merged with Phoenix). And can I update from Asus Update, if I download that particular BIOS from Award's site?? Please suggest me some sites from where I can get new BIOS for my mobo....!!

I would use the ASUS BIOS available from their website. While Award *may* have a later version of the BIOS for that chipset, I wouldn't know if that would be compatible.

Since that mobo is out of production, there probably aren't newer versions of the BIOS available. Why would you want to update it anyway?

The one thing I would do is check for the latest version of that BIOS on all of ASUS' websites - sometimes they could be out of sync.

Fron the pheonix/award website...

Phoenix does not supply AwardBIOS upgrades.
Please contact the motherboard manufacturer or eSupport for information on AwardBIOS upgrades.

My guess is that if ASUS hasn't updated it on their website, they probobly haven't released a new bios.

After a while motherboard companys no longer issue new BIOSes for their older boards, it isn't cost effective for them to do so. They put all their engineers on the newer motherboards and have no one available to update antiquated hardware. The motherboard you have may be on its discontinued list and as such no more updates will be issued, and as such I would simply go with the latest available from their download site.
