BIOS update questions

Sandra is saying that a BIOS update is needed because my mobo does not support SMBIOS/DMI.
Is it worth updating the BIOS ? Would this update bring me another benefits ?
I dont know which mobo I got but it has Award BIOS v. 2.15.05 and VIA VT82C597 VP3 System Controller.
Are these information enough for me to find the latest BIOS for my mobo ?
Any help is appreciated.

Regards, Ben.

If your system is working well, and the cpu you are using is supported, you probably shouldn't do a bios upgrade, especially if your sure what the new features may be.

YOu should visit the manufactorers web site for the mobo, and see and read if any features are included in the newer bios, only then deside. Just because Sandra reports something, don't take it as gold, Sandra often reports alot of stuff that is not needed or false.

Thanks for the advice 48...
Just curious, but don't you overclock your machine?
i mean, almost everyone I know that come to tech forums tries to... and your chip seems to be very overclockable !

Regards, Ben.

OT ...but..I can set the mobo to overclock the cpu when I boot up in the bios. I sometimes leave it at the proper speed, and sometimes o/c it to 563 or 585 mhz when the mood strikes me.
