BIOS Update Problems

Well I decided to update the BIOS on my Intel DP965LT Mobo to the latest release and now I have no end of trouble. The machine will POST but when it flashes the hex numbers on the bottom right of the screen it hangs on E7 and will go no further. I have tried the BIOS recovery by attaching a floppy drive and even tried CD-Rom but it won't load Rev 1669 from either of these two locations.

I contacted Intel and they were less than helpful and told me to try exactly what I told them I had already tried in my e-mail.

Anyone got any ideas or is it a case of getting a new mobo.

I had a failed flash last week and just up and bought the Abit IP35-E board. Working great. Only downside is you have to reload windows. I too was coming from a P965 chipset motherboard. Once they are done they are done in my book. You can go through the trouble I guess of ordering a new flash chip.
