Bios update on Toshiba Laptop?

I bought a used Toshiba Satellite 2535CDS and want to update the bios. Everytime I run the "chgbiosa" program that is supposed to run the flash utility, it errors saying "program too big to fit in memory" or something like that.

Any ideas?

Try unpacking in DOS. Try running in safe mode. What OS?

it errors in DOS mode...... (win98 Shut down> restart in MS-DOS mode)

Can you get the files to extract to a floppy disc, or can you copy the extracted files to a floppy, that only has system files on it? Flashing any bios needs to be done from a dos prompt with no device or memory managers loading, which ends up being a bootable floppy most of the time.

i extracted the Toshiba bios self extracting file in windows directly to a floppy. When booting from the floppy it says loading windows 95... then the error.

You can update the BIOS in Toshiba notebook computers by holding down the F12 key when turning the notebook on. No CHGBIOSA program required.
