hi.

i have a guestion about updating my bios, here's what i did. downloaded it and double clicked the file on my desktop. then in the run box. typed the path for the exe. file. a window popped up saying to close any running programs, so i closed the download, and closed a program i had running. when i double clicked on the update file again, i got an error message saying that there was either an internal programming error or a hardware problem, the top of the box said "severe". i rebooted to see if it would help, and i didn't get the message again so i proceeded with the download up to the point were it warns that clicking yes to install will erase the bios and install a the new one. my question is should i go ahead and take the chance and install the update? also after i click the install button, will the install still worn me if there is a problem before it actually finishes installing the new update so i don't ruin my computer. any help on this issue will be appreciated.

thanks.

Unless you have a program from the MoBo Manf. to run the BIOS update while the OS is running and even then you may want to update it in DOS. Once started it will erase and tell you not to shut down the Machine until it give you the goahead (BIOS Update Success). Wheather you'll want to do it or not is your call and unless the update give an improvement or corrects a problem then I see no need.
If it ain't broke etc
