Hi all,

I want to update my bios Asrock P43R1600 to version 1.50
Iam running Windows Vista 64 bit Ultimate...when i click on the exe file, the pc completely freeze.

I turned off my virus scanner (nod32) and all other programms but nothing helps.

Have some one a good idea to help me out?

Thanks:shocked::confused:

don't use Windows BIOS flash utilities, they are inherently unstable.

Use a DOS boot disk, a bootable USB flash drive, or some BIOSs have flash programs built-in, all you have to do is insert a USB flash drive containing the BIOS file.

Thanks mate...ive done that ;)

But now ive got another problem...when i play a game suddenly my pc reboots ..in the event log ive found this error message:

***Some processor performance power management features have been disabled due to a known firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware.*****

CPU and GPU temperatures are ok. My pc reboots after 10 minutes or 30 minutes..the max. was 42 minutes.

strange.

Check your bios for configurations such as "energy saving mode". My asrock has 5 preset bios configurations. Vista wouldn't even load with 2 of them. I use either the energy saving or ide modes.

I've 3 presets:

-optimal
-performance
-energy saving

i use the most compatible one: "optimal"
