BIOS UEFI Init First display strangeness

Previously I used the IGP to display via DVI. I could see the BIOS and UEFI splash screens and menus regardless of what operating system I was booting into, or what USB boot device I was trying to use. This was naturally expected since IGP was set in UEFI to Init 1st (default setting).

I then installed a GTX1060 on PCIe Slot 1 and I could still boot into both operating systems, but I could not raise the BIOS or UEFI minus. I connected another monitor onto the IGP, changed the Init 1st setting to PCIe Slot 1 and could now see the BIOS and UEFI menus on the PCIe Slot 1 display without anything connected to the IGP.

This morning I got up with the intention to boot into LM and behold the end result is no signal being reported by the monitor connected to the GTX1060 on PCIe Slot 1. Is this because during the original LM install was via IGP that it must see this in use?

So, my current options are seeing the BIOS/UEFI menus or seeing a LM login screen. But not both.

It seems that just setting PCIe Slot 1 to init 1sr wasn't enough. I had to disable internal graphics (IGP) as well even though i did not have anything connected to it.
