BIOS Tweaks

I just noticed in my BIOS that there's an option

AGP Aperture size 64 MB

There's other options such as 128 MB and 256 MB. I have a BFG 6800 OC 128 MB card. What would happen if I changed the value to 128 MB to match my video card?

I usually go double the memory, at least the same. Some people have lockup problems running half or severely low aperture size.

Wow. This actually might give me a performance boost.

Some more questions. I have an AGP card and my motherboard supports both PCIE and AGP.

These are obvious, but I can't afford to break my stuff.
There's an option in the BIOS that let's me pick PCIE or AGP for the video card. PCIE is selected right now, but I haven't had any problems with my card.

AGP speed is set to auto. Should I select 8x?

Fastwrite is disabled. Should I enable it?

(1) Usually the PCIe/AGP option is only asking which card to initialize first so most likely it won't matter which this is set to, but it won't hurt to change it to AGP.

(2) Again this setting doesn't matter much because if your card is AGP 8x then thats what it'll run at anyway ... if its 4x on the other hand you may have problems, so don't change it to 8x unless your sure.

(3) You should try enabeling Fastwrites since it can increase performance a bit but be sure to pay attention because it can also cause problems in some cases.
