Hi

guys Im working on a machine for my friend :
p4c 2.4 on a asus p4p800 with kingston pc3200 ram (value)

ok now I cant get it to run 250 fsb and 400mhz on ram :( so I had to cut it to 320 on ram (if I put it on auto it drops to 266)
now when I boot its all good and dandy (at 320, at 400 it says checksum error please insert floppy :) ) and the cup-z says the ram is actually at 400, which would be great if I believe cpu-z, should I ? :)

my pc marks are: cpu 7264
ram 7450
at stock speed and ram 400 in bios it did - 5826 cpu and 6533 on ram

Thanks
Dan

You forget as your fsb goes up so does your ram. :)

So at 250mhz with ram set at 320 (5:4) you ram is actualy running at 200mhz (ddr400) so yes CPU-Z is correct.

oh it doenst override it ? I thought that bios set at 400 will override and keep it at 400 no matter what the fsb is at
like with pci/agp, its set at 33/66 and overrides the fsb

also it doesnt only say 320 in bios setup, it will say at boot up too, so Im still a bit confused, I mean the cpu clock changes on boot up but this one is still 320
