Hi everyone,
I've put together a site with screen shots with the bios settings on my pro 2A. Site building is new to me so take a look and give me some feed back.

1) Am I on the right track with the bios settings?
Is there anything that could be changed to help my performance?

2) What do you think about the layout of the site?
What can I do to make it better?

You can PM or send email from the site.

Thanks,
Rb56

I had a quick look, anyway if you could make those BIOS screenshoots bigger that would make it easier to read.

Looks cool. :) Someone verify these settings to I can tweak mine! I can read them just fine. But maybe having a 19" monitor helps.

I should of said I can read them fine on my 19" Monitor, but there are people out there with smaller monitors ;) but it`s still quite good on layout.

Nice site. I will be building my first pc next week. The K7T PRO 2-A is on it's way along with a T-Bird 1 Ghz CPU, Antec SX830 Case, GlobalWin FOP32-1, 2 128 MB Crucial sticks, C. Labs Soundblaster Live Gamer, C. Labs GeForce ANNIHILATOR Pro, Toshiba 12X Dvd and an IBM ATA/100 60 gig hard drive. I have bookmarked your site and will refer to it if I have any problems. I'm new to pc building and this bios stuff but I love it!!! Thanks! :)

Great site.
A couple of things that may increase performance...
In Advanced BIOS Features change Gate A20 Option from 'Normal' to 'Fast'.
In Advanced Chipset Features, change K7 CLK_CTL Select from 'Default' to 'Optimal'.
Everything else seems fine. :)

Made the changes, thanks for the info.
Ran a quick check in Sandra 2001, memory score up from 419/520 to 428/535 it must of helped. :)

The site looks good to me. It should be especially helpfull to "newbies" as well as those more experienced at setting up a new board. BTW--- My 14" monitor at work shows the screenshots just fine.

I got a Tbird 900 with this board and my memory scores aren't close to that. 382/419 at the moment. :( Bios 1.9 too and I don't have that option either.

I haven't seen or worked with the 1.9 bios, so I'm not sure about K7 CLK_CTL in that ver.... Can anyone else address this?

Neoplasia
Do you have your DRAM timing set to Yes or Auto? Made a big difference for me.

I'm sorry I don't understand your question
Yes it is ATA 100 capable

Okay. Maybe someon else can address it... maybe they got rid of it in ver. 1.9.

I know what he means. It say v6.00pgn or something next to Award at the very top of the startup screen. Thats not version number if you look a little lower you'll see a v1.8, v1.9.

I have the 1.8 BIOS. Maybe they have been removed the option from the BIOS and set the K7 CLK default to optimal?? That's the only logical explanation.

mhan80:
It would depend if you had an ATA 100 HDD. You can't run a ATA 66 drive at ATA 100.

I added some memory and cpu benchmarks to My site. How do they stack up with what everyone else is getting?

Thanks :)

How are your memory settings set in bios? Do you have DRAM timing set to auto or yes (I'm not sure what it is in ver 1.9)?

When I do a reboot and close as many programs on the taskbar as possible, then run my memory benchmark I see a higher score. Do you see the same thing?
