I have ram set to 8 8 8 24 which is what its suppossed to run at but in cpuz it says its at 8 9 9 25. also I have dram voltage set to 1.514 but in bios it says 1.488 no matter what.

also any suggestions for other settings would be appreciated. I have not set up a pc from scratch in 2.5 years so I am a bit nervous here.

BIOS update now at least lets me use SPD to get the proper 8 8 8 24 timings. I had to clear the CMOS though after BIOS update because Windows would not start so that scared the crap out of me.

and it is still showing only 1.488 for DRAM voltage and there is no way to change it. I guess its still safe but I want it to be at 1.5 where it belongs. honestly I miss my Gigabyte board because it let me adjust every setting to right where I wanted it.

well thanks for the help, lol.

it appears to be some type of issue with g.skill ram and his mobo. I do not want to return the mobo so I guess I will try different ram. I am afraid I wont be able to adjust the dram voltage on it either though...

Gskill makes some nice ram but sometimes it doesn't work on every board.

Just for the record you are using the second and fourth slot from the CPU?

Strange how bios won't let you change memory voltage. Never had a board that wouldn't let me.

Using SPD it doesnt even give option to adjust voltage? 1.488v is pretty close to spec.

What CPU did you get?

I am using the first and third slots like the manual shows. with or without SPD the voltage stays at 1.488 no matter what. cpu is the 2500k is in my sig.

I guess I will do a little more research to see if I can find some memory I know will be 100% compatible.

My asus board said use a2 and b2 when using 2 sticks. Would be 2nd and 4th slot from CPU for me.

Couldn't view your manual on my iPhone :)

Did see a post about msi saying use the blue slots with 2 sticks. Also something about booting up with 1 stick the first time. Not sure why? Maybe clear CMOS and try booting with one and see if it'll let you setup your memory that way. If so add second and see what happens. Might be worth a shot just to see if works.
