My bios sepup program was flicking when I opened it, so I thought I'd better get bios update with live bios.
It went wrong. I was updating same version, 2.1, atter a message, version error, computer was shut down, and when I tried to reboot, I get crazy beeping sound. Tried few times to boot with no avail.
Could any help to fix this problem.
Thanks.

I saw this tip, which same with msi web site.
For Award BIOS:
1. Make a bootable floopy disk.
2. Copy the Award flash utility & BIOS file to the said floppy disk.
3. Create an autoexec.bat with "awdfl535 biosfilename" in the content e.g. awdfl535 a619mj21.bin.
4. Boot up system with the said floppy (it will take less than 2 minutes before screen comes out).
5. Re-flash the BIOS & reboot.

Can anybody clarify making autoexec.bat with awdf1535.......

I see 2 files on v2.1 so should I put Awfl789.bin(it's not w6330ms.21, is it?) on the created autoexec.bat file? Just the line?
Thanks.

Around the end of the week my replacement Pro2A BIOS chip will arrive. I'd be happy to reprogram the old chip with the correct BIOS via hot flash and sell you the chip, which you could replace to bring your sys back up again.... If you're interested, PM me.

What's the chance that the memory chip got fried from the failed bios upgrade?
The Led is red-green-red-red, which means I have damaged memory.
But the bios is messed up, is it reliable?

Heh ... that's the exact LED pattern I have. I believe BIOS enumeration falls under that category. I tested my RAM; it works fine. You may want to do the same for yours.

The D-LEDs aren't all that specific. In practice, I've found they're only useful for figuring out if you've overclocked too far.

Hope this helps.

Darn Bluesky, I have just experienced the exact same thing! Apparently this happens EVERYTIME you flash the same version BIOS that is currently flashed in the BIOS?!?! I flashed 2.1 on top of 2.1 like you and got 'verify error' (are you sure you got 'version error'??). This is insane and MSI should pay all costs for a new chip if this is true that you can't do that *grump*. Does anyone have the balls to confirm that you can't flash 2.1 over 2.1, or flash ANY BIOS over the same version??

I have flashed the beta BIOS over itself with no problem....but I did it using the bootable floppy.

Hey, Melomaniac.
I'm not sure it's version or verifing, it happened so quick.
I'm so sorry to hear it happened to you.
Now, try boot disk with modifing autoexec.bat file with awdflash.exe msi bios.bin.
If you can't proceed to floppy disk and hearing those crazy beeps, you better contact MSI. I think it's their fault, at least not yours. Ask for replacement board.
Good luck.

hi guys

the same happende to me...sh*t

BUT there§s no need to replace your MoBo or BIOS chip.
Just pull it out, put the bios on a floppy and go to the nearest radio/electronics shop where they have a eprom writer. This will cost you about $1 or less, I guess.

And again I'm desperately pissed off, because this is MSI'S fault. How come many people experience the same problem ? Something wasn't right and they screwed up.

Well you need to find a store with the right kind of EPROM burner. I know some guys but they only had a burner for regular IC's. So I have sent back my mobo to my retailer who will give me a new BIOS chip for only 50$ (about half the price of the damn mobo!):) I dunno what I'll do if this happens again - probably never get an MSI board again for sure... I bought this because I read raving reviews of it, but now it seems many people have instability problems AND BIOS flash trouble. If it doesn't get stable when I get it back it goes back to MSI or out the window - dunno whats best, and get an ASUS I guess:/

$50 for a new BIOS ?? You should have just had it reprogrammed here for $15 and it's very quick turnaround service. Or just got a new one for $23 ---> Bad Flash

edit - sorry didn't see your other post :|
Maybe we should all get one of these, they look really worthwhile:

However I don't quite understand which version of the BIOS will be in your 'backed up BIOS'.hmmmmm
