Anyone here heard of , or had experience with, this product ? It seems to be a hardware backup system for your MB bios chip...holding your current bios data by a circuit and roms/ if your bios fails, slide switch and backed up bios will work immediately...
Anyone's feedback on this would be interesting...thanks

I have been using the BIOS Saviors since they first came out. They work very well. I purchase mine at Mwave.com Here is the other version.

technonut: Have any trouble fitting it in (height) ? Right near my bios chip is one of my NIC's, and one of it's capacitors hangs down a bit where I think it might be in the way of the bios savior. ( I can't move NIC anywhere else...) ...

From what I see on the Shuttle Compatibility Page, the 557 is not listed Too bad, because the BIOS Savior is a nice unit. Maybe if you look at actual pictures of the Shuttle boards supported, you could get an idea if maybe you could make one of them fit yours somehow?

EDIT:. The installed unit does not really raise the height of the BIOS chip much. I just could not say for certain in your situation if it would fit.

Technonut--I thought my Dad and I were the only ones in the world to have these. I don't think either one of us has ever used them. But, I'd like to know how you utilize them. Some questions if you have time?

1. When I ordered them, I thought we could just use one, be satisfied with the flash, then, use it on another mobo. But, after seeing it, I don't think that's the case?

2. Do you keep it on your mobo and just kind of "store" each flash on it?

I just received mine from Mwave, am waiting for a new bios chip from abit so I can use the dam thing, Abits support sucks big time.
