BIOS ROM CHECKSUM ERROR.... urgent!!!

my friend just icq'd me on his laptop telling me just got a Bios Rom Checksum error on his desktop...

he gets 1 beep... the bios rom checksum error, then it says detecting floppy drive a media
insert system disk and press enter

what is that? what can he do to fix it?

Sounds like his BIOS was corrupted, look on the manufacturer's website for a flashing program. Maybe someone here has a simpler solution, though.
