Bios Reporting Power Surges.

Hi Everyone, I just put together a media pc using spare parts. The Bios is reporting Power Surges & I was trying to figure out if this is the result of power supply not being big enough or if it is, possibly not showing the true wattage or if its something different.

Power Supply is Raidmax 380W (This came with the case, which was on sale this week at Fry's).

For what I have, is the power supply too small (wattage wise)?

System Specs:
Asus M5A88-V Evo
Phenom X6 1090T
1 - 4 Gig DDR3 1600Mhz
1 1.5G Seagate 7200Rpm
1 2.0G WD 5900Rpm
IDE Dvd Burner
Ceton Infinitv card

Your wattage is borderline, but your power supply is junk.

I never trust the software to properly register voltages, but it's highly likely that in this case, it's correct.

Throw that POS away...or return it to Fry's and get a quality power supply before it goes "POP" and lets out the magic smoke...and takes some of your other components with it.

Edit: I should mention that Raidmax PSU's aren't generally the worst ones you can buy...but they're in the same category as Apevia and some of the other "system killers."

Definitely the PSU to blame. I would buy a Rosewill over a raidmax any day

Hi everyone,

I went later that evening & picked up a 500W Antec Basiq PS, & for the few times I have rebooted the machine since installing it, I have yet to see the message.

Thanks
