BIOS Ques

Does anyone have any idea as to what would make the BIOS lock up when you go into it? I mean, it doesn't completely lock up, but it hangs every time you go to a new item. Could it possibly be incompatible RAM?

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It hangs on every boot.

The last time I experienced this was due to heat issues. I attached the HSF to the CPU but I forgot to plug the fan into the motherboard header. The system wasn't freezing 'because' I entered the BIOS, that's just how far I was getting before it froze.
