BIOS problem?

I've recently upgraded my motherboard bios (in my signature) to the latest release from the chaintech website, V5.0. After having updating it I tried to run a couple of programs such as CPU-Z and the NTune utility, and both programs freeze my entire computer and force me to perform a hard reboot. When I run other programs (even intensive programs such as 3DMark03 and games like BF2 and CS:S, the applications are stable. This indicates to me that there is a problem with the latest BIOS upgrade. I re-installed my motherboard drivers to make sure, and that didn't fix the problem.

So, is this a problem that a lot of people with the latest BIOS and this motherboard are having? Or is it more isolated to me?

Their site doesnt want to load for me right now, but isnt the 5.0 driver a beta?

I think I'm using 4.7 or something like that (whatever the latest one was besides the beta bios).

I couldnt get the beta one to even update, so I just updated to the 4.7 one.

Havnt heard of this problem before.

The V5.0 BIOS is supposedly official, as it says nothing of it being a beta on the US chaintech webserver. The last official BIOS was V4.0, which I just reverted to and everything worked fine again. So I've concluded that something with the newest BIOS has caused conflict with programs like NTune and CPU-Z that rely on the BIOS to retrieve information regarding the mobo.
