BIOS modding reprogramming. How do I get around CHecksum error?

I'm not well versed in checksum calculations or even how it is dealt with in a BIOS.
Generally you either store the checksum data for comparrison or utilize another algorithm based on the lower bytes of the final calculation.
From what I understand an AMI BIOS stores the checksum value.
Changing certain values in the BIOS will invalidate this calculation.
Where are these bytes stored and how do I deal with fixing a BIOS checksum error?

Do I have no idea what I'm talking about?

Several of us have been dealing with modding a laptop BIOS to support the AMD K6-2+. This checksum is the last thing on the list that stands in our way (other than actual testing of course).

PLEASE HELP!

Thankies!

Of course I've come across pages stating that the BIOS adds a said value to the Checksum and thus resulting in 0. This keeps things keen. Hmmm....?
