Like a dummy I flashed my asus a7v133 with v1009. Tried all the tricks to revive it from this board and the asus board. I'm a dummy 'cause I knew not to flash my board cause last time I did it I caught h... trying to revive it. So, not wanting to wait for the bios chip reflash send off, I bought an Aopen ak73 pro(a). I see on this sights mobo review it placed below my a7v. I thought I would have to over write my hd and re-install windows after replacing the board. But nope, I installed it all anyway and it seems to be working fine. All I had to do was install mobo drivers and some of the old drivers (like for the printer). Working like a champ. Am I thinking wrong that a mobo swap calls for hd re-writes and os re-installs? I've ran some display intensive games and the pc seems to be running fine. Or did I just get lucky that I got this Aopen running that way? When I get over being ticked at myself and asus, I'll probably sent the bios chip off for reflash anyway, then probably build another pc. Be a while though. Make a good backup machine.Aopen doesn't have raid. Whats the deal on that feature? Currently have 2 hd's and 2 cd-roms, so raid not really neccessary right, unless I try to pack in more hd's and cd/dvdroms? 'Preciate if any you guru's could enlighten me on all this. Thanks, jab
