hey all,

got a Shuttle XPC SK41G running with an AMD 1700+
512 PC2100
Geforce 2 MX
Maxtor 60 gig IDE
LiteON CDRW

in the BIOS, it reads what should be "Maxtor 6Y060L0" as "Maxtar3ut90 uy09j 09y" or some other jumble of crap.

it also does it at the POST screen too upon the IDE autodetect part.

Windows will load up, but it'll blue screen or reboot after 30-45 minutes.

i get PAGING FAULT IN NON-PAGED area or something.

i formatted the drive and put windows back in, but i get the same error.

could this be a physical hard drive error?

Try reseting the bios. If that doesn't work:
run memtest to test your RAM for errors.
replace CMOS battery
flash bios

Yeah - either that or a virus.
