Hi all. I have been agonizing over this issue for a couple days. I hope someone can help me find some closure on this.

ISSUE: I cannot enter BIOS when the BIOS configuration jumper is set to 'normal'; it seems that the keyboard is unresponsive. If I set the jumper to 'configure' the system automatically enters BIOS, but the keyboard is then unresponsive.

I recentely built a new computer:

MOBO: Intel DG45FC.
CPU: Intel E7400
RAM: Corsair XMS2 (2 x 2 GB) PC2-6400 DDR2 800
HDD: Western Digital Blue Caviar 250GB
ODD: Sony CD/DVD drive
OS: Windows 7, 32 bit

On its face, everything is working just fine. But, I just can't enter BIOS. As stated, when the BIOS configuration jumper is set to 'normal,' I will repeatedly hit F2, but nothing happens. (The splash screen says "Press F2 to enter BIOS.")

If I put the jumper to 'configure,' I get put into BIOS automatically, but the keyboard is unresponsive. In both instances, the keyboard (Logitech Illuminated wired USB keyboard) has power, but it just doesn't work.

Here is a diagram of the configuration jumper:

I tried resetting the CMOS - didn't work. I tried updating the BIOS with the latest BIOS update from Intel (express method through Windows environment). The update went through, but it still doesn't work. I tested the keyboard and confirmed that it is working.

I researched online and found ONE nearly identical issue someone was having with their Intel board. See http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/manageability-software-development/topic/60664/ But there, the person ultimately resolved it by simply updating the BIOS. Once he updated the BIOS, it would recognize the keyboard at all critical times.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I am kind of at a loss.

Thanks much in advance.

If I'm understanding correctly, once you're in the OS the keyboard works fine but you cannot enter the BIOS? I know things like this can be annoying but frankly the best way to deal with it is to get a cheap generic keyboard to enter the BIOS. Make changes that are needed then switch back to your Logitech keyboard.

Yes. That is correct. Once I'm in the OS, the keyboard is just fine.

You raise a good point about the keyboard. I will try with a generic model when I get home. Thanks for the advice.

I had similar issues with logitech boards on a msix58 board. I after much hairpulling-and 10 diff keys later-usb and ps2- ditched it in favor of a different board. I never figured it out...

Wow. It was the keyboard!

I swapped out the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard (usb) for a very basic HP stock usb keyboard, and it worked! Thanks to everyone for the info/advice.
