BIOS -- INIT Display First set to PCI or AGP?

Then set it to AGP or else you won't see the BIOS/post screens. The monitor will show nothing until windows is pretty much fully loaded unless you set the INIT display first to the correct setting.

funny b/c it was set at PCI for the longest time. I didn't check until today when my display in Win2k went black all of the sudden for no reason.

What's INIT stand for anyway?

That setting matters only if you have both agp and pci video card. It will display the post screen on the monitor attached to the video card which is initialized first. If you dont have a pci card, it wont matter what you set it at.

that makes sense to me now b/c i built a p4 system that had onboard graphics and I tried putting a pci video card in there, but the computer would boot with the onboard first and then it'd be capable of dual displays with the pci and onboard after windows started.
