I have an old system that i want to use which has an ECS P43T-A2. When i bought it ecs advertised it as supporting achi. Well it did initially but the removed they support in a bios revision without any warning at all.

I did a search on the motherboard and found a bios mod site where one of the forum mods said he added back support for achi to the motherboard.

Question if you were me would you trust this mod (not malicious)?

I would join the site and contact munger to see how it's working. You're still on your own or not about it working but he/she should be able to tell you if it's still working and is he/she having any problems now.

I've always had a great experience there. You're always taking a risk flashing a user modified bios, but honestly, I'd do it if it were my board.

Considering the size of the BIOS (709KB) is identical to the official BIOS downloads available, I wouldn't be too concerned with it being malicious. My real concern would be whether the AHCI support could cause problems in itself.
