Hi well I really got a low end computer

Specs:

AMD atholon 2800+
ECS KM400-M2 says REV: 3.0 ?
x1600pro

well in a attempt to get higher fps (source) I tried to overclock my CPU. So, I downloaded a flash Bios driver installed it using WinFlash. Now I used winflash and it told me to restart, i did. Now this is where the trouble started. When I went to check my specs it said "unknown CPU" and 796 MHz. Now I called my friend he said it was alright. So i played Source and got like 12 fps? when i used to et 50-60fps. So I know i was runing the game on 796Mhz. But every time i try to install another bios driver it still the same till i got one that said "mobile AMD ath? " 800mhz" thas the only name i got.

Now I can not find my default bios can someone help me out
I also tried reformatting no success
Also tried removing the jumper but resets the CMOS

thanks,

Never flash the bios while overclocked.
Try: set bios to default settings, then re-flash the bios.

Sounds like you may have gotten one of those ECS + Mobile Athlon XP-M combo bundles, where ECS unloaded a lot of surplus mobile processors by bundling them with their motherboards.

These bundles may have shipped with a special BIOS to support the mobile processor that wasn't released to the public.

Also, try updating in DOS instead of Windows. WinFlash methods are very buggy and responsible for more failed updates (i.e. dead boards) than any other method.

Edit: Here is a related discussion where someone experienced the same problem with CPU detection after updating the KM400-M2 v3.0. Another user uploaded the original BIOS file for them to flash and it solved their CPU detection problem:

The link to the BIOS file is still active:
