BIOS flashing advice

I'm going to buy a dual core CPU, but my current BIOS does not support dual cores. I need to flash the BIOS on my A8N-SLI Deluxe to a newer version.

Is it better to do this in Windows or DOS?

Any other advice is appreciated.
