Please research other's efforts in the net-groups . Bios flashing from Windows
is very dangerous . BACKUP YOUR CURRENT WORKING BIOS ! I know most-many
people don't have floppy drives , but using a floppy is the safest path .
Plan for the worst . A failed flash and dead mobo . If you have made
a floppy disc for flashing , make a second one for " blind flashing " . Its the
same as the 1st. one but has an AUTOEXEC.BAT file that runs the flash
program automatically , even though you don't have a moniter signal-picture .
Search : bios + failure + flash + autoexec.bat + floppy
Check your Bios settings . Some block any change to your Bios !
Also , Don't change the " Boot Block " part of your Bios , or you might loose
the floppydrive ability .
Many new Bioses are comming for the 690G chipset mobos for HD-DVD
writing and playing .
Better to be over prepared than guessing .
