i want to update the BIOs on a MoBo i have hear..... the BIOS file i downloaded has the extension .rom
i thought BIOS files extensions wrre .bin ???

it doesnt say anything on the MoBo makers site about renaming the file.

it goes thru the procedure & never mentions it.

so should i flash with the BIOS file names XXX.rom ???

it seems to be what they are saying to do

just need clarification here as i have only ever flashed DVD-ROM's & MoBo bios thru online live flashing

thanx

The extension can be whatever the manufacturer wants to name it. I've used .bin's .rom's and a few others.

I think I already answered your question on the original thread. However, in case you haven't checked, the file name can be either ".rom" or ".bin"; depending upon what the manufacturer sets as a requirement. If I confused you by calling it a ".bin" file, then excuse me. Check the info.
