I reapplied my arctic silver 5 to my AMD 3200 venice core CPU w/ ASUS A8N-E mobo (it use to be 51 C, problem was applied too much paste).
This time i'm just confused.... first time i went into BIOS after the temp started at 41 C but went right back up to 51 C after 5 minutes of just sitting there. but then after rebooting a couple times and doing some software installs. my temp in BIOS starts at 41 and goes up to 48 C.
now i installed NVIDIA's temp monitor to check my temp in windows. and when in windows on monitor the difference in temp between BIOS and the windows monitor is about 4 degrees C. However... after watching the temp on monitor start at 46 C it drops to 38 C in idle... (after about 20 minutes). Now each time the temperature in windows drops to 38 C now matter what temp i start with.
system temp in BIOS and monitor are the same 36 C. Ambient temp is about 80. what's going on??? why the rise in temp in BIOS and the drop in windows???
