BIOS Config

I have a laptop with an Intel 915 chipset, and an extremely unsatisfying BIOS... you see, I have 512 Mb of DDR2 ram, but only 8 Mb is allocated to video ram, which is catastrophic. Now this should be easy to fix in the BIOS... but I can't do a thing in the bios! All options are grayed out so I can't select them!
How can I fix this, or update my BIOS? I couldn't find any BIOS updates on Intel's site...

You won't find a bios update for laptops on the chip manufacturer's site (to my knowledge). You must get one from the laptop manufacturer. That's the way it is with Toshiba, in any case.

Sad to say though, you still might find everything grayed out. However, check any configuration software which came with your laptop.. all the power schemes and display schemes, etc. There very well may be a setting there.
