yesterday I booted my computer and as soon as the video posted it ran BootBlock and asked for a boot disk. so I went on my brother's computer and downloaded myself Award BIOS 1.07 for VIA ApolloPro 133A chip, and the awdflash flashing program. then I made myself autoexec.bat and inserted the disk and booted...

the flash program starts and it automatically types in the .bin (flash file) when asked for the file. But then I get this right after:

"system was not new AWARD BIOS version!
Please Update ROM BIOS First..."

I own a TYAN Trinity 400 S1854 motherboard with VIA ApolloPro 133A chipset and Award BIOS.

what's going on??? :(

thanks

It means your motherboard or bios rom chip on the motherboard is physically bad. You have a hardware failure. Nothing you can do on the user side. Either have to get a new motherboard or have that one serviced. Considering I never even heard of your motherboard type, "Trinity 400", I'm sure it's un popular for a reason.

But just out of curiosity, what type of platform is it? I've seen "Tomcats" , "Thunders" and "Tigers" listed, but no Trinity's.

133A - older chipset. I've seen a few that gave a checksum error and all they needed was a new battery. If you never have changed it - hey $3.00 can't hurt.

Hm. I never had a computer old enough to have the CMOS battary die on me. Could give a shot. Replacing the battary is very simple. Just have to open up the case. Check your manual.
