I just booted my system for the first time with my Iwill KK-266R and I can't even get into the CMOS.

I get this odd sounding beep, not like a POST beep code, and then it says the following on my screen:

Bios Rom Checksum Error

Searching for Floppy Device
Please Insert System Disk and Press A Key

I am using a T-Bird 900, and I set the FSB setting to 133 MHz. Did I do something I shouldn't have done? God forbid Iwill to put any troubleshooting section in their manual...

And to top it off, when I insert the floppy and it loads awdflash.exe, the screen comes up and says "Flash Type - " and says nothing about what BIOS it is flashing, and I can't type anything.

Is it me or should setting up a motherboard in this day and age not be this complicated?

First, I was surprised that you can boot on 133Mhz with T-bird 900 (133X9=1197Mhz).The 900 T-bird is 200Mhz DDR not 266Mhz DDR. So you may try setting it to 100Mhz instead of 133Mhz.
If you really want to set it at 133Mhz you must first lower the multiplier to 5 (yours is 9).
Or you can lower to 6.5 or 6 or 5.5 but you need to cut L6 bridge. I pick 5 so you just
connect instead of cutting. You'll get 5X133=665Mhz this just for initial start up. Also the L1
bridge must be connected. Once it boot up you can change to higher multiplier. For more detail
how and why the L6 need to be cutting or connecting, check it out at www.anandtech.com

yea and you dont need to flash that is just the boot block bios,it is there incase of bad flash,it gives you a chance to try flashing again, it will also show when you cpu is unbootable,or some other problem keeping you from booting ,it is basically a no boot.

I had a similar experience, although I don't recall all the details. My recovery was simple:
- turned off computer
- removed USB connections(*) -- I'd already removed all (except CPU) fan connectors(*)
- shorted the clear-CMOS jumper (at edge, near front-panel connections)
- set 100MHz mode jumper on m/b (near floppy cable?)
- rebooted into BIOS, enabled FLASH-BIOS option, then flashed 4.26 BIOS
- rebooted into BIOS and reset all my earlier options
- restored USB connections, etc

I had exactly the same experience with flashing BIOS until I cleared the CMOS: It "offers" a load-BIOS-from-floppy option, but it's dysfunctional at this time. Remember there's a lock on flashing the BIOS in SETUP (under top-right sub-menu, "Smart something"?) 'cause the error msg you get when flashing-while-locked is oblique: checksum error, or unrecognized something.

*USB -- I removed these cables because adding some USB devices were among the last things I'd done before shutting down on last use.

*FAN connectors -- I've ordered taps to power all my fans (except CPU) from the disk-power cables as I can make my KK266R (or ABit KT7a) unbootable by adding any of my Enermax variable-speed fans to any m/b header. I've reported this to IWill, and I've read they've now issued a warning that there are some power-distribution problems to the fans. (Problem == no boot, usually w/ blue line on black background at bottom of monitor.)

I expect you'll be back up "in a flash" 8P
