Bios check sum error

When i switch ON the system, dispaly shows as BIOS ROM CHECK SUM ERROR, DETECTING FLOPPY DRIVE A, DIRVE A ERROR. SYSTEM HALTED. Iam unable to enter CMOS setup.Even though i press Del key or F2 i don't enter the CMOS setup. I contiously hear beep sound

Clear your CMOS. Most times you can set a jumper near the battery to reset things. Also, if you pull the battery out and the power plug out also, then hit the power button it will drain all of the capacitors on the motherboard and clear it.

The most common time to get a checksum error is when you update your bios and there are new features. Viruses I think also do this.

What motherboard have you got?
Try to clear the CMOS memory by shorting the jumper...read in your motherboard manual. Be sure you SHUT OFF THE POWER before you do this or else you may DAMAGE your system. By this I mean you totally connect your system from ANY powersource.
