I've got a 2865 I've mated with a 939 Athlon 64 3500+. I'm powering it on for the first time and all I'm getting is one long BIOS beep and the BIOS led reads "C1".

The manual makes no mention of either code and I'm rather puzzled.

I've tried this board with both ECC and non-ECC memory with the same results. I also installed a PCI-E video card thinking maybe the onboard video was toast, same result.

Any ideas?

Best,

- Justin

Don't those usually only work with Opterons...? PSU is plugged in well? You might have to do a BIOS update, however, that won't work right now...

The K8E 2865 is an Athlon (and Opty 1XX board). The 3500+ is supported with CG stepping or higher for CPU support (NO B0 or C0 stepping CPU's supported). If you have the correct stepping CPU, then make sure your processor is seated correctly. Use only one stick of RAM in slot 0 (you're *sure* your RAM is good/compatible?) Strip everything else out of the board, including disconnecting HDs and opticals. The c1 code is POST error manager initialization, so I'm not sure what that tells us.

Tyan's tech support is very responsive, but you need to try all of the above before you talk to them.
