BIOS and CPU-Z don't agree on my HTT speed...

As you guys may know, I've been OCing my CPU for the last few days and have gotten some very good results, such as being able to boot Windows/Linux at 2.8 GHz on the stock voltage. However, I noticed a very strange problem yesterday.

I had the HTT set to 240 from Sunday until Monday, and this results in a 2.65 GHz speed on the stock voltages. It was also 12+ hours prime stable in the blend test. However, when I looked at CPU-z today I noticed that the HTT reading was 241. Confused, I went back to tweaking and rebooted windows with a 250 HTT in the BIOS, keeping the stock VCore. Memtest passed for nearly 2 hours at this speed(after which I stopped the test), and Linux/Windows booted without a hitch. But once inside Windows my HTT reading in CPU-Z/RMClock was still 241 instead of the 250 that I had set in the BIOS. After shutting off the computer, I double-checked in the BIOS to make sure that I had set the HTT to 250 and SAVED the settings, and it turned out that indeed I had done so. So why is this mismatch occuring, and what speed is my CPU really running at?

I had the same anomaly in my MSI board but when I reset the BIOS and then changed the HTT to whatever I wanted everything was fine.

In the MSI K8NGM2-FID thread this problem has been mentioned a number of times and people have reported that either shutting down and waiting a few minutes before restarting or reseting the BIOS have solved this issue
