Bios and boot problem with ASUS P5V-VM DH

Hi all, I bought a new setup in a local store today, but there is a booting problem with the machine. The problem is as the computer boots up, it shows checksum error, then if I "DEL" and go into bios and save any changes I made, the computer will not boot and beep. Then it will keep beeping in the next boot, I have to pull the clear cmos jumper to get it boot again. The weird thing is if I press F1 to get thru, if I ever reboot the computer, it will just beep and not boot again.

I am not sure if that's the motherboard problem or any of my components is bad. I use the onboard video from this ASUS P5V-VM DH

Setup is:
Intel E6300 (1.83ghz)
1gb 667 ddr2
ASUS P5V-VM DH
sata drive, ide dvdrw
500w psu
everything onboard

o btw, in the bios, it shows the cpu running at 266 x 7 (1.83ghz) and I heard that long-short-short means bad video, but I don't think so in my case.

thanks!

Had same problem using DDR2 667 memory. Changed it for DDR2 533. Everything now works OK. Also flashed board to latest BIOS.
