Anyway, my company wants to setup a fingerprint and/or facial recognition system (and/or voice recognition?)
The purpose of this system will be:
20% security: access to the main gate - but this is also supplemented by physical human security so is not really critical.
80% for time-keeping purposes: tracking workers' log-in/log-out times at a factory.
We could just give out time-cards and have them swipe, but we want something just a little bit harder to fool (of course no system is fool-proof).
Anyone have any suggestions on good hardware for the fingerprint scanning? For facial recognition I assume a good quality webcam is all that is needed.
I also need recommendations for the SOFTWARE that could interface with fingerprint and facial recognition hardware to authenticate (against a database of current employees) and log entry/exit times to a database.
