Ok Im going to pick up a game for the weekend and have narrowed it down to Bio Shock or Gears of War.

I have a hot new system so thats not an issue.

What would you pick and why.

Bioshock, because it's a good game and I cannot comment on GoW because I never played it. Why not picking both? You're renting them? Borrowing them from a friend? It shouldn't be so expensive to rent both if renting them is what you're going to do.

Both, because they're both excellent titles that any self-respecting gamer should play. That said, if I was forced to pick one, BioShock was a bit more enthralling.

Ditch them both, GoW is short and generally weak. Bioshock is easy, repetitive, and generally weak.

It's unfortunate, but there is no new game worth playing that will push your nice new system.

1) You're wrong.
2) Also, Mass Effect.

edit:

3) OP's name is "boner" backwards.

Not looking for a game to push my system, Im sure Crysis will do that, just looking for a fun game.

I was hooked on WoW for 3 years just sold my account, ummm I mean gave my account to a friend ;) and thought I would catch up on some of the fun games I missed out on. :)

Dang MMORPG had never played one, and my friends said try WoW dang game is like crack lol but its been 3 weeks and I can say I dont miss it woot Im free!!!

Oh and by the way I have Orange Box just installed it a few weeks ago, tons of fun.

Bioshock is a great game. GoW was good, but I found it much more enjoyable to play co-op.

QFT.

GoW was IMO kind of boring in singleplayer. It really shined when I played co-op.

I finished both. And both of them are excellent games, however being a big System Shock 2 fan it was a small let down for me that Bioshock is very similar to it (and not in a good way). I did enjoy the game though :) I finished GoW in co-op on a X360 and it was an awesome experience ! Don't know if there's any way to do it on a PC, but I strongly recommend this way of playing it! Played Bioshock on my PC btw. If I had to choose I'd say go with GoW. A team of badass mofo guys on steroids shooting the living crap out of everything = teh win :D

Gears of War actually has a lot of replay value as well as good multiplayer, Bioshock... after one playthough, you've seen it all.

*Bioshock

Great game, I highly recommend it. No multiplayer though, so if that's what you are looking for, maybe go GoW or something along that lines.

I liked GoW more but I only played coop. I got tired of Bioshock about half way through the game and could never get back in to it. I loved the storyline and creepy atmosphere, but the gameplay just got very monotonous.

Bioshock was a great game but I tried playing it a second time and just couldn't do it.

I played GoW straight though 3 times (different difficulties). I see people harping on the story and length of GoW and Im not sure what game they were playing, because I really enjoyed it. I have never played it multiplayer, so I cant comment on it (sick of dumbasses back in the DoD 1.3 era).

I enjoyed Crysis too, but didn't feel like playing it through a 2nd time (yet).

Bioshock is a fun game but not much along the lines of replay value, I beat it in a week or so playing casually but YMMV. The first time through though the game's a blast and the eye candy is pretty cool.
