Every other time I attempt to use Google Maps, the site seems to be as slow as snot. It makes no difference whether I am trying from work, home, or otherwise. So lately I have been heading over to BING maps and it never lets me down.

Let the Google to Bing migration begin!

I have absolutely no problem with google tools. Google maps works flawlessly and lightning-quick.

I will never use bing.

Does Bing have mobile navigation for the cellphone like google? If so, I may have to try it because Google takes awhile to load on my phone (Android) and I have the fastest phone available. Even Verizon's VZNavigator loaded twice as fast.

I <3 Bing. Great video/picture search, nice regular search results too. I love it

I'm set in my ways. I use Google Maps, Gmail, Google Voice, Google Search, Google Checkout, Google Adult Diapers, you name it.

No need to go to Bing.

I'm on the Bing bandwagon too, someone has to put a stop to this Google-Facebook domination.

Are you using the silverlight version? That has some buttery smooth transitions (its especially cool to see the aerial to bird's eye view to streetview). Their regular map viewer has similar performance for me as google maps.
You can fiddle around with the silverlight version here

Google Chrome not supported...sorry, but not worth me opening a separate browser...

Isn't it a bitch when Microsoft specifically disables certain non-MS browsers, even though those browsers are more than capable of properly rendering the page?

It would be nice for them to at least attempt to include Chrome as a supported browser...maybe that will come later on in the product development. I don't know what percent of market share that Chrome has...but it is currently my preferred browser which limits my usage of pages that aren't supported.

Bing actually does have better map tools. Not a big fan of their search though- it never finds what I want without having to dig through a bunch of crap.

So I guess you use IE or something?

I wouldn't know since I don't use IE, but I've been told of this issue before on IE. I personally have never had google maps be slow, no matter what computer I'm on, and no matter what browser I'm using. FF, Opera, Chrome all work great and speedy.

Maybe google just doesn't like you.

LAWL - it even has to use Silverlight which is as poorly coded as iTunes and you think bing is somehow better. Wow.

Epic fail in this thread

Yes there is Bing Mobile but on my phone it's way slower than Google Maps to load.

Bing still misses the pre-fill/predictive text that google has, other than that my frequency to going to bing has increased. just like OP, more often now, I find something wrong with google maps, I get frustrated and gloatingly move over to Bing.

the only thing that could make Bing maps superior (I honestly didn't know that such a thing existed), is if there is T&A to be discovered on their version of street view, on a regular basis.

Also, including street corners to score hookers and blow in all major world cities woudl be a major plus.

Sure, I'm joking here...but the more I think about it, this is probably the only thing that would allow Bing to compete with Google maps, much less overtake them.

They do bill themselves as a "decision" engine...so this would go along with this tag line.

Works just fine for me in Chrome. Scrolling/zooming is just as smooth (if not smoother) than Google Maps.

I like the look-and-feel of Bing Maps better than Google Maps, and they are beginning to reach feature parity. I gotta say, before Silverlight 4, it was a pain in the ass - Silverlight 3 and earlier didn't support right clicking, and that's a habit that's hard to break. Now its a lot better.

Interesting...was this Chrome on Windows? Did you get a message that the browser was not supported?
