Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, a great combo.

was a great combo.

but i've often wondered, why was it always fred astaire and bing crosby or Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra.

why not sinatra and crosby or astaire and kelly?

professional competition?

Bob Hope and Jerry Lewis used to talk about that once in a while. You couldn't have one A++ performer on the same bill.

Yeah, it was pretty much the fact that they didn't want to share the stage. The Rat Pack days proved that idea was dumb though.

ya, on AMC today they said that white christmas is a remake of holiday inn, but seriously the two don't have much in common as remakes go.
