Binding ruby objects and use them inside java code

I'm writing a java program that needs a tool written in ruby. I can create a separate ruby project in eclipse for this tool and use it, but I want to write a wrapper for it for java. What do you recommend?
Thanks in advance

I don't work with java (at least not recently). Would using jruby instead of ruby work for you? It's the java implementation of ruby.

Hi ace,
Most of the code is in java and this ruby library I want to include in the existing program.
I'm very new to ruby, I must say. If I could make java create jruby objects and jruby work with the ruby library, now that would be great.

jruby is the ruby interpreter done in java, so if you use that to handle the ruby library.. then couldn't it all be in java without too much extra work, except including jruby?

Here's their website. http://jruby.codehaus.org/

Sorry, I can't be too much more helpful. I haven't done any mixing of the two language yet. Though at some point I may have to access some java libraries... 😛
