The Binding of Isaac:Wrath of the Lamb is now out. I played a game last night, and I have to say it is just what I wanted out of an expansion of this game, more of everything!

More of disgusting, tasteless crap. I played the original for 10 minutes and uninstalled in disgust. What a terrible game. Horrible story, horrible controls, horrible premise... As if dreamt up by some sicko 15 year old high on weed with some crack mixed in.

I would actually PAY to have this piece of garbage removed from my steam collection, and I cant believe these sick bastards had the nerve and audacity to make an expansion.

Really, the creators of this game need to be smacked across the face with a dead fish till unconscious.... Maybe they'll wake up sane after.

I'm waiting to grab it on sale. I really liked BoI. The look of it had turned me off from the game initially till I actually played it and found I really really enjoyed the game.

Funny enough, I got the game in some indie bundle, but it took the Steam Holiday sale for me to play it so I could get the achievement for more coal/prizes

Yeah, BOI is a really well-designed little dungeon crawl. The setting and backstory are pretty angsty and silly, but that's easy to overlook. That said, once was enough; probably won't bother with the expansion.

I'm assuming it's another Flash made monstrosity that requires a damn i5 or better CPU to play well? I played the 1st one, and honestly GTA III ran better on my computer. When a game with graphics as simple as BOI slows down to a crawl I go meh! I know it's mostly due to it being a Flash game, but still.

Had so many hours of fun playing isaac. I think i have 10 achievements left to do and i've spent like 50-55hs according to steam playing it.
Those "dont get hit" achievements are nearly impossible

The story is a bit silly, but that is really the point. It is slapstick comedy, a parody taken to the absurd. I guess you have to have a certain sense of humor to really appreciate that sort of thing. I grew up watching The Three Stooges and the Marx Brothers, so I enjoy it.

Don't know what you are talking about, I play it on a 4 year old laptop just fine. The game does not exactly need 80 fps to be playable.

Give it another try. Each room is like a puzzle, after a little practice you get familiar with how the puzzles work and it gets easier.

One thing to remember is that this is basically a roguelike game. You are not going to win every one, in fact even when you get good at the game finishing it is a real challenge.

But, it does not take all that long to play a game. Sometimes I sit down and play 4 or 5 games in a hour, and never get to the finial boss. You have to enjoy playing the game itself, and not be chasing 'teh win1'

but if you take your time it can take almost 1 hour to get to the final boss (not talking about wrath of the lamb)

When there were a lot of baddies on the screen at once it would slow down to a crawl and the controls would be less responsive. I encountered this numerous times. If it was in fact something with my system causing it, this was the only game I noticed this sort of slow down in *shrug*

Literally it means like the game Rogue. When we use the term we are talking about random procedurally generated dungeons, and permanent death.

Picked this up yesterday.

Seems to be a heck of a lot harder then vanilla BoI. Ran into the Widow as the boss of basement 1 and got my ass handed to me.

Might've just been bad luck though - wouldn't be the first time I've been outright screwed by a game of BoI. Sometimes, the RNG just has it in for you.

Yup, sometimes the game can't be won. While waiting on the expansion to download I played a game that made it all the way to the 3rd level with out ever seeing a single key or bomb.

EDIT: Is it just me or are keys are bombs more common after WotL?

It's just you. Sometimes the RNG is kind, other times you get 3 dimes on level 1, all behind rocks - and not one bomb.

it was on the "harder" difficulty side, hmm, definitely not as much as SMB though. I take back my words.
Heck I find even 2D point and click games intimidating. I had a nightmare of a time with Machinarium and Botanicula.

I picked this up on steam sale without really knowing much about it.

Been playing all day every day since. Best game I've played in a long time. So addictive, so fun, so amazing. Anyways gotta go kill mom's heart a few more times to progress
