Binders. Anything that'll stop paper from ripping?

I've always been against binders as to the fact that they make all of the paper I put inside them, simply put: Rip.

Now after my first semester in college, I finally got a laptop. Now the problem is, now that I am typing all of my notes, I no longer have a fancy notebook that I can page through to find my notes. My question is, is there anything out there that would help protect the paper from being ripped when the binder is being paged through? (Frequently)

As I said I've always been against Binders due to this, and I have never really 'owned one' to see whether or not there actually was something out there to protect my printed paper. I'm sure theres something...

I always used binders - could fit all of my subjects in there, and I could reorder my notes with ease. Ripping was a problem, but it seemed to only occur with the first few and/or last pages, so reinforcing those helped. There are small little adhesive rings you can purchase to prevent the rippage.

Do those work well Cheesemo? Only a buck for 224 of them :D

I'll buy 10 if you, or someone can confirm it ;)

Would it become an annoying chore to have to do this for all of the notes taken in college? Or are they very easy to put on. So doing 10+ pages a day wouldn't get annoying?

The reinforcements work well but you do have to put them on each sheet.

Also make sure your binder has sheet lifters, you're using a binder no larger than necessary, and that the holes for the rings aren't too small. Some pre-punched paper has holes that barely fit the rings and they tend to tear more IMHO.

Sheet lifters eh? Those come with a binder? I'm not even sure what those are. I'll take a google on that one.

the just peel and stick - very easy to do.

If you do it before you put the sheet in the notebook, they could be misaligned slightly.
Be careful when placing the final pressur on them.

These things have been around since the three ring binders - I even used them in high school w/ my papyrus sheets:p

Yeah, make sure you aren't using too large of a binder or anything, I've never really had too much of an issue from papers ripping, I mean, it happens occasionally but not enough for me to question the use of binders.

I saw some stuff at Staples, a bit more expensive than what I'm used to, but maybe I'll have to try it: thicker notepaper. Link.

Looks like it's got some kind of reinforcement along the holes.
"Heavyweight paper is 3-hole punched and reinforced on binding edge with ultra-thin clear film."
