Don't know if many of you still visit VE3d, but back in the day when that site was rockin, it really was the only website you needed to visit when it came to PC gaming.. After he left and IGN took over, it went downhill fast...

LINK

It was the VE3d/Three Fingers 3dfx forum combo that led me to become friends with so many at AGN eventually leading me here. Very sad news indeed. Billy, you went waaay too young, RIP.

🙁

OMG, the good old days.. I think I downloaded every single Brett's 3 Fingers Quake 2 config 🙂 🙂
The good old days of gaming, man those voodoo card rocked. I learned everything I know about computers from those 3dfx forums.

Don't forget about all the posts about the "doublewide" and "gremlin". I really enjoyed reading his posts. I really hate to hear that. 🙁

I always wanted to buy his leaf blower with the "special" modification.

😕

He always would say that he had a leaf blower with a special extension that would let him reverse the rotation of the motor and do quite the "suck job". It was one of his running jokes along with "reach arounds", midgets, and liberal use of lubricants.

Don't forget the spatula references either!

Ah yes...the spatula. Such a versatile utensile.

LMAO. R.I.P. BW

When I worked at Red Storm he was the list serve joker with the spatula and midgets.

And when IGN got involved, well, it's when the straights took over and killed it.
🙁

OMG!!! Voodoo Extreme was the first game site I ever read on a regular basis! Man, that's a shock.

BTW- Looks like he passed from liver damage. That usually means some kind of poisoning (drugs, alcohol, etc...) 🙁

I don't know him, although I know of the site.. I was never much of a gamer.

But 33 is way too young. 🙁

There will never be another site like VoodooExtreme. So many of us got hooked after laughing our asses on our first visit to a site which covered the oh-so-hilarious topic of computer games. Billy and VE were one-of-a-kind, and there hasn't been a site created since that's had the character VE had when he was running the show. He put his heart and soul into VE, and it showed.

This one's for you Billy, for all the great laughs you've given us over the years.

R.I.P. Billy. You left us way too early. 🙁

I used to post news for various gaming websites that sprang up around then. Billy was a fun guy to talk to and always had a great attitude. Bluesnews, VoodooExtreme, Operation3Dfx, RivaZone - those were the days.

Hey, does anyone know the status of Jeremy Allford? A google search returns a blog that mentions a rumor that he passed away.
