Looked interesting. I'm sure the context will change it but when the one lady asks "Are you threatening me" and the younger lady smiles "You fucking bet I am". Ugh, poor acting. Hopefully it is just that scene.
The first episode was good! That scene the lady asked if she was being threatened called out the blonde lady's husband publicly earlier and it was fitting. She didn't just say I am threatening you, there was some build up dialouge to that question and answer
Gets a 'meh' from me. I like most of the actors in the show...but the premise didn't do much for me. I'll give it a few more viewings (hell, who am I kidding, i'll watch the entire first season) before I decide to abandon or keep watching after season 1.
Too me, it's like the financial industry version of "Ballers". Football players say Ballers is such a huge exaggeration and I'm assuming that those that work in the financial industry would say the same thing about Billions. But the writing seems pretentious...almost like it was written by Aaron Sorkin, but with language/terms that we aren't really supposed to understand...to make it sound really complicated. Seems to be done on purpose.
Anyway...I'm still not hooked...but like I said I'll probably end up finishing this season at least. Unless it gets *really* ridiculous.
Outside of the sensationalism, is there any point to the S&M crap? I really hope it ends up as a point in the series (at least before I stop watching) as now it just feels tacked on to be edgy.
