Not a big fan of the show, but it's nice to see somebody call Congressman Frank on his culpability in regards to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

rofl, no actually, O'Reilly got punked, pretty bad. Not only did O'Reilly look childish, but Frank called him stupid and ignorant. Frank stopped just short of calling him an ape, which would have been apt given Bill's flailing arms of rage and bellowing vomit spewed from his mouth.

What does gerrymandering have to do with this? Do you even know what it is? Secondly, I don't know what clip you watched, but Barney Frank totally trashed our good friend Bill who was just foaming at the mouth.

(my favorite part was Bill repeatedly accusing Frank of saying Fannie and Freddie were good investments when the clip he played to start it off had Frank saying that Fannie and Freddie were not good investments)

Umm . . . how did he get punked when Frank lied about a video that was played of him talking?

Yes, O'Reilly went a little over the top, but Frank deserved it in some regard.

Barney Frank and Chris Dodd should be sharing a cell with Ken Lay and Bernie Ebbers.

These are the two points I wanted to make as well. How the fuck do you get gerrymandering out of this?

And the hilarious part was that Frank was completely right. In the quote that O'Reilly was using, he basically said that they were not a good investment at that point, but that they were going to fix them and that going forward, they would be. It wasn't his fault that they imploded before they had a chance.

Pardon me, I used the wrong word.

The issue to me is that Frank claims to be some sort of champion for the little guy against the big bad banking interests, when he's most decidedly not. Fannie and Freddie is just the icing on the cake. See here:

Seems to me O'Rielly is the douchebag and Franks comes across as the rational one.

O'Rielly needs a serious ass kicking.

I can't see the vid (blocked at work), but was it this quote Frank gave in 2003 when the Bush administration wanted to put more federal oversight over Fannie and Freddie and the Congress refused?

These two entities?Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?are not facing any kind of financial crisis. The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.

O'Reilly is a day late and a dollar short. Go ahead, blame Barney for a bill that was passed with bi-partisan support.

Well, go ahead, give O'Reilly retroactive bragging rights, someone has to be the goat, and O'Reilly will work as well as he is now on the losing side of the issue.

Don't blame you, and don't blame me, blame that man behind the tree. Don't blame George, John, Bill or Hank, Nancy, Barack, or Dick, its quite frankly all Barney's fault, if you work for Fox news and are a a blow hard lout. This what its all about.

LOL, sorry but Bill O. is one of the best commentator's out.

I do not understand why you dislike him so, he tells it how it is. Are you actually saying Barney Frank and people in power are not to blame?

Are you honestly telling me that Barney should not admit his mistakes? Are you honestly telling me Barney Frank who received a big pocket of $$$ from Fannie and Freddie should not be replaced on the committee?

I forgot, my bad. It is everyone's fault except for Barney....

Dear Lord give me a break!

Its all what you represent.

O'Reilly is a ranting and raving pundit on Fox News which is to the right of center.

Most of the people on these boards are liberal democrats which is Barney Frank's crew.

Barney Frank could have literally gone out and been campaigning for people to invest their entire retirements into Fannie and Freddie (which isn't far from what he did) and he would be defended here.

But if there was an R in front of his name instead of a D, he would be wrong about everything.

See the people on this board are not content to be partisan, they want to be hyper-partisan enough to feel that they are e-pundits and e-strategists for their parties as if anyone cares.

Don't believe me? Find a post by Jpeyton, Craig, or one of those guys criticizing anyone from the Democrat party.

Won't happen.

Couldn't tell, Bill the blowhard was to busy trying to score points with Tree Swingers like you by screaming his head off to let Frank explain himself.

Your party has been trying so hard to wash their hands of the last 8 years they didn't even have Bush give a speech at the RNC. Now they nominated Bush 2.0 for 2008. It's the ultimate case of pot/kettle.

Well he did say they weren't the best investment at the moment.

If he had completely trashed them they would have bottomed out anyway b/c of people selling in a panic.

I disagree with your whole post... Here is why.

In my opinion, Barney Franks fucked up bad, and wont admit it. Its not ALL is fault, but he was one of many that did fuck up and he should admit to that.

Aside from all that, Bill O'Reilly is a douchebag, and has no place in journalism, he is angry, shortsided, hyperpartisaned, ignorant, and impatient.

What ever happened with that lawsuit a subordinate was going to file against him because he was sexually harassing her on the phone? Did Fox pay her off?
