"Best Friends founder Elayne Bennett, wife of virtues czar William Bennett, said O'Reilly has donated $60,000 to the program over the past 1 1/2 years, including a $5,000 check he handed over Saturday: "Bill has been wonderful to these boys. He puts his money where his mouth is. He's a New York guy. He was a schoolteacher in the New York City public schools. He loves these kids."

Eh, considering this passage from the article I dont think he was trying too hard to be an ass

I find it very sad that you would make a big deal about this.

goddam Ornery, can you make one reply without name calling or abuse? You must take a great deal of satisfaction in your anonymity.

Regardless of O'Reilly's philanthropy, his remark was tasteless and sterotypical and he deserves to be bashed for it.

He's just your classic neo-conservative fanboy bully. This is nothing new for his kind. He probably even thinks that I'm some kind of welfare-loving neo-hippie liberal just for posting this. As for his anonymity, I hope he isn't taking satisfaction in that. I got his name, home address, and telephone number in 10 seconds just from the information in his profile. I would NEVER use that information against him, I'm simply pointing out that none of us are truly anonymous here, something I think we should all remember.

Back on topic: I'm not a big fan of O'Reilly. He's a classic loud-mouth, a tabloid journalist following the footsteps of Rush Limbaugh. On the other hand, I am firmly against any type of PC, so he can say what he wants. However, in a public setting, one should always be careful of what one says, lest one look a fool.

Given the fact that Ornery has the balls to put his full name and location into his viewable profile, I guess your point is moot, eh? Especially coming from someone who keeps their profile from view.

I'm mostly disturbed by the repost aspect of this, and the fact that it's no news at all, and that somehow it deserved an entire new topic, and the fact that he must be digging for this crap...

Oh, and "very sad." Oh brother.

"Maybe Bill O'Reilly should declare a "No-Quip Zone."

Maybe sombody should lighten up! Damn, you have to think two or three times before you say anything these days, for fear of offending somebody. Glad I don't have that problem! ;)

Yeah, you obviously don't think at all before you post.
